Welcome Word From "Raad Ommar" CEO

The first ever Iraq Energy Expo and Conference, December 5th – 7th 2008 was a great success by all accounts, the fact that it was held in Baghdad says a lot
about the security improvements in Iraq, the willingness of international oil and gas companies to be present in such a large number and the Iraqi ministry of oil extensive participation in the event from all parts of Iraq, all fifteen companies participated.

Oil Minister Dr. Hussain Al-Shahristani welcomed international oil companies to Iraq and ended with an announcement of a new joint venture between an Iraq oil firm and a foreign
company.

During his keynote speech on the first day of the event, Shahristani outlined his 10‐year plan which includes producing 6 million barrels per day. Iraq requires billions of dollars to fix the
infrastructure of the oil sector after decades of war and sanctions. It also wants to bring in new technology and training of Iraqi workers. Shahristani said this requires the
involvement of international oil firms "I hope this conference will make a contribution to fulfilling this objective," he said.

One major oil service company shared with me this observation "Just a week ago we participated in one of the largest oil shows with a booth cost of over $250,000 and yet just in the first day at IEEC with a modest presence we generated more interest and contacts"

The second Oil and gas EXPO and Conference, will be even better, better location in the heart of Baghdad will make it much easier for ministry staff to attend the event, therefore we expect even a larger turn out that the 5500 visitors last year.

Also many international oil companies did not participate last year and are planning to exhibit and participate this year, so your early reservation is greatly appreciated. Just recently Kurdistan started exporting oil from just months of operations, so you can imagine the potential for much more in the south and the rest of Iraq.

IACCI is committed to improve and expand this year all recommendations from the survey to emails that we received will be taken into consideration, please let us know
