More fuel for generators ahead of Ramadan – minister

Minister of Oil Hussein al-Shahrestani said that additional quantities of fuel for electricity generators will be provided ahead of the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.
“The ministry wants to ensure that citizens will continuously get electricity during the holy month,” Shahrestani said after inaugurating a new unit in the Samawa refinery.
“The Oil Ministry is after the objective of turning Iraq from an importer of oil derivatives into an exporter in a few years’ time,” he added.
The minister said a new unit will soon be inaugurated in the Najaf refinery
