Iraqi Drilling Company was founded; formerly, it was an affiliate of Southern Oil Company. It is specialized in drilling, completion and reclamation of oil wells. It has a fleet of 27 drilling and reclamation rigs. Its current staff number 5482.

• Northern Operations Department:
It engages in drilling and reclamation works starting from Iraq’s extreme north to Al-‘Azeeziya area in Kut.
• Southern Operations Department:
It engages in drilling and reclamation works starting from Iraq’s extreme south of Iraq to Al-Mouwaffaqiya area in Kut.
